pi NN coupling constants from NN elastic data between 210 and 800 MeV.
High partial waves for pp and np elastic scattering are examined critically from 210 to 800 MeV. Non-OPE contributions are compared with predictions from theory. There are some discrepancies, but sufficient agreement that values of the πNN coupling constants g 2 0 for π 0 exchange and g 2 c for charged π exchange can be derived. Results are g 2 0 = 13.91 ± 0.13 ± 0.07 and g 2 c = 13.69 ± 0.15 ±...
متن کاملNeutron-induced deuteron production from light nuclei at 800 MeV
The deuteron sepctra from {n,d) reactions at 800 MeV near 0' are characterized by a high energy quasielastic scattering peak, and at lower momentum, a quasifree scattering peak. The ratio of the quasifree to quasielastic cross sections is approximately 10:1.Both cross sections exhibit an A '" mass dependence over the range of target nuclei studied. Comparisons are made with corresponding proton...
متن کامل225Ac and 223Ra production via 800 MeV proton irradiation of natural thorium targets.
Cross sections for the formation of (225,227)Ac, (223,225)Ra, and (227)Th via the proton bombardment of natural thorium targets were measured at a nominal proton energy of 800 MeV. No earlier experimental cross section data for the production of (223,225)Ra, (227)Ac and (227)Th by this method were found in the literature. A comparison of theoretical predictions with the experimental data shows ...
متن کاملCHELSI: a portable neutron spectrometer for the 20-800 MeV region.
CHELSI is a CsI-based portable spectrometer being developed at Los Alamos National Laboratory for use in high-energy neutron fields. Based on the inherent pulse shape discrimination properties of CsI(Tl), the instrument flags charged particle events produced via neutron-induced spallation events. Scintillation events are processed in real time using digital signal processing and a conservative ...
متن کاملThe Preliminary Cosmic Di use - Ray Spectrum from 800 keV to 30 MeV Measured with COMPTELS
We report a preliminary Cosmic Diiuse-ray (CDG) spectrum from 800 keV to 30 MeV obtained with the COMPTEL instrument, the Imaging Compton Telescope on-board the Compton Gamma Ray Observatory. The spectrum is constructed by measuring the count rate of rays from high galactic latitudes and rst extrapolating the rate to a zero cosmic-ray ux environment to eliminate the prompt background. The promp...
